[ultraelectromagneticjam]
Recently got my copy of Ultraelectromagneticjam, the Eraserheads tribute album - respect for the greatest Pinoy band that ever lived (90's kid ako eh).
My picks: 6 Cycle Mind's version of "Alapaap", a great rendition - I like what they did to the intro, the drums, and the instrumental. A darker version of "Spolarium" by Imago. Love the bass. "Superproxy 2006" by Francis M. - Ang angas. Orange and Lemons sending "Huwag Kang Matakot" back to the 60's, giving it that classic feel. the Radioactive Sago Project taking "Alcohol" to the next level - turning one of the Eraserheads most forgetable and mundane (forgive me :D) songs into something so COOL. Hands down, ang galing ng ginawa nila dito. M.Y.M.P's mellow(er) version of "Huwag Mo Nang Itanong" is also a nice change. And of course there's the reggae version of "Maling Akala" by Brownman Revival which I liked. Rico J. Puno's "Huling El Bimbo" is also quite.. cool (hehe).
One thing though, what the HELL is Cueshe doing there!? C'mon, "Hard to Believe" deserved better than to be rendered by some pogi poser band. Respect naman diyan. The same can be said about Spongecola's version of "Pare Ko", it sucks.
Anyway, all the other songs were ok. This album is great, instant classic.
